Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School celebrated Christmas with a Parade of Fun Learning from December 2 until the 16th, 2021. There was Scout Day, Healthy Day, Character Building Day, An Anti-Corruption Inspiring Talk, Language Day, Acitya’s Got Talent, and the Elective Classes Showcase. Through all the events, Petra Acitya wanted the students to be courageous in developing their passion and talents, just like the theme of the event, “Be Courageous to Light Up.”
One of the most interesting events from the Fun Learning Parade was the Inspiring Talk. On December 7th, 2021, Petra Acitya invited Ms. Nisa Rizkiah Zonzoa, the Principal of the Indonesian Corruption Watch School (SAKTI) to introduce the students to Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW), the non-government institution campaigning the anti-corruption movement. She started the session with Mentimeter to discuss the definition of corruption in the students’ perceptions. After Ms. Nisa shared the general information, students started to ask many questions. They asked about the difference between KPK and ICW, the process of dealing with corruption cases, and many more. The discussion flew by on the Zoom between Ms. Nisa and the 8th-grade students as they engaged in lively discussion. At the end of the session, Ms. Nisa encouraged the students to cultivate an anti-corruption culture in their daily life because every noble character starts by building good, small habits. Then, the session was closed by taking photos together.
Besides the Inspiring Talk, Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School did fun activities together with the students. To nurture a healthy lifestyle, students and teachers had to exercise together, create fruits into a healthy snack, and joined a podcast with drg. Fanny Wijaya about dental health. Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School also encouraged students to grow their social and emotional intelligence. In small groups, students learned to face their fears by sharing their experiences with their mentors. Students also learned to build solid teamwork through Scout activities and Silent Knights Rally Games. They were also engaged in a fun academic enrichment trip by visiting Namsan Seoul Tower, Myeingdong, and Hongdae virtually with King Sejong Institute. The Fun Learning Parade was closed with Christmas Fellowship on December 17th, 2021.
In Conclusion, Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School is committed to providing holistic education to students in a fun way. We always strive for some creative and contemporary methods to inspire students to develop their passions and talents.
