Covid-19 infections are decreasing in Indonesia since August 2021, but it is not over yet. The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture has allowed for in-person learning in schools with strict health protocols. Only teachers and students 12 years of age and over who are healthy and have been vaccinated can attend the offline learning in school. Offline learning is not mandatory. Parents can still choose online learning for health considerations. Thus, Petra Acitya has done some preparation for the hybrid learning (online-offline learning).

One of the preparations that Petra Acitya has done is vaccination. All Petra Acitya teachers, staff, securities, and cleaning services have got the second dose of the vaccine. Not only the staff, but most of Petra Acitya’s students 12 years of age and over have also had their second dose. The vaccinations were conducted in Grand City Convention Hall in August and September. The students who did not get vaccinated in August or September can join in October. The students’ vaccination process ran well as the committee, teachers, parents, and students worked well together. Ms. Enie, one of the parents, shared her gratitude that her child could get his second vaccine.

Other than that, Petra Acitya has conducted several in-person learning simulations in September. Almost 20 students joined each simulation. Before joining the simulation in school, students had to fill in a health protocol form for self-assessing their health in the morning. After arriving at school, students had to wash their hands with soap and the security checked their body temperature. The simulation ran well as there were less than ten students in one classroom. After learning for 2 hours in school, they went home, had a break, and continued their online learning through Zoom until 1 p.m.

Furthermore, Petra Acitya’s principal and Covid-19 prevention team conducted online socialization for students and parents about hybrid learning on September 27, 2021. Herwati, S.Pd., M.Psi., the principal, shared the school’s health protocol for further hybrid learning. Petra Acitya commits to the students and families to run high-quality learning while maintaining good health procedures. Thus, Petra Acitya is ready for hybrid learning in October 2021.
