On June 4, Petra Acitya Christian Junior and Senior High School hosted an inspiring event in collaboration with Petra 13 Christian Playgroup, Kindergarten, and Elementary Schools, all located in Pondok Tjandra Indah, Sidoarjo. This special day, known as FYP Day (Find Your Potential), was designed to help young students explore their passions and discover their potential through engaging elective workshops and activities.

At Petra Acitya, we believe in nurturing every student’s unique talents and interests. Our elective classes are a key part of this approach, allowing students to delve deeper into subjects they are passionate about. FYP Day perfectly aligned with this philosophy, offering younger students

from Petra 13 schools the chance to experience these classes firsthand.

During FYP Day, we opened 18 elective workshops, each providing hands-on learning experiences guided by our talented teachers and enthusiastic Junior and Senior High students. Each young participant had the opportunity to try two different workshops, ensuring a day filled with discovery and excitement.

In the Food Technology Workshop, students learned the art of making jelly. It was a delightful experience where they could see, touch, and taste the results of their efforts. In the Visual Art Workshop, students explored digital drawing using a stylus pen and the Canva app, turning their photographs into unique digital artworks that blended technology with creativity. Meanwhile, in the Physics Workshop, students flew kites and delved into the energy theory behind it. This workshop was a perfect blend of fun and education, illustrating complex scientific concepts in an accessible way.

These workshops are just a glimpse of the engaging and educational activities that took place throughout the day. The hands-on approach not only made learning enjoyable but also provided a preview of the diverse and enriching educational experiences at Petra Acitya.

FYP Day was not only beneficial for the younger students but also a valuable experience for our Junior and Senior High students. Acting as facilitators, they assisted teachers in conducting workshops, gaining leadership skills and a sense of responsibility. This peer interaction fostered a supportive learning environment and built a sense of community among all participants.

Beyond the workshops, the event featured exhibitions, educational games, and a lively bazaar during break times. Parents who accompanied their children were treated to a comprehensive school tour, showcasing the impressive facilities at our 9th floor senior high school building. This tour allowed parents to see firsthand the excellent learning environment and resources available at Petra Acitya.

Events like FYP Day highlight the strengths of Petra Acitya Christian Junior and Senior High School. Our commitment to holistic education, passion-based learning, and community involvement creates a nurturing environment where students can thrive. By offering such

enriching experiences, we demonstrate our dedication to developing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel.
