Sidoarjo is known as the City of Delta, as it is located between two large pieces of Brantas River and Mas River. It is rich in fisheries and salty products as it is located in the lowlands. Getting to know the richness of this place is important as Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School is located in Sidoarjo Regency. Thus, Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School brought Sidoarjo Sensorium Exhibition (SSE) as the theme for 2022’s Acitya Cultural Festival.

Sidoarjo Sensorium Exhibition was held on December 8 and 9 and it was opened to the public. Students in grade 7 presented their Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) at this event. There were musical drama performances, inspired by the legend of Sarip Tambak Oso, which is Sidoarjo’s local story. Meanwhile, students processed salt, which is Sidoarjo’s natural resources, into salted eggs. Then, the salted egg was developed into several kinds of foods and snacks, which were sold during the event. Moreover, the students also exhibited their projects and artworks related to Sidoarjo in their own wall magazine. Visitors and parents could enjoy the performances, products, and exhibition. The students had prepared them all for two months.

Furthermore, on the last day of the Sidoarjo Sensorium Exhibition, S.Gustini, S.Pd., M.M. and Henik Umi Koyum, S.Pd., M.Pd., who are the school’s assessors from Sidoarjo’s Education and Culture Department, visited the school and enjoyed the students’ performances. Students in grade 9 welcomed them with Sola Ketingan Dance, which is Sidoarjo’s local dance. The assessors attended the exhibitions and had a dialogue with some students. They appreciated what the students had prepared and done and motivated them to keep up the spirit.

At the end of the day, the festival was full of elementary students who enjoyed the show. The open house was successful and most of the visitors appreciated the event. Through the event, the students learned not only Sidoarjo’s culture but also management skills and public speaking. By being confident while showing their talents, artworks and projects, we hope that Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School can advance both their academic or non-academic skills to glorify God.
