Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School has come up with activities that Acityans look forward to. The hallmark of Petra Acitya is to have an activity called Fun Learning after the Mid- and End-Semester Assessments both in Semester 1 and 2. The Fun Learning activity was held on October 10-12, 2022. It then was followed by the Elective Class Showcase event on October 13, 2022 and the Korea Hangeul Day event on October 14, 2022. All these activities were held at Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School on-site and online via Zoom so students can still participate at home. However, the Korean Hangeul Day event was only held on-site on the 3rd floor, the indoor and outdoor canteen of Petra Acitya Christian Middle School.
The Fun Learning activities were held for 3 days, which included various activities, such as Acitya Sport, Acitya Cooking Competition, Acitya Got Talent, Acitya Supporter, and also Acitya Cinema. This activity began with Morning Devotion at 07.30 and ended with Afternoon Mentoring at 15.00. This Fun Learning activity ran smoothly as it could be seen from the enthusiasm of Acityans who registered in the competition according to their talents. Every competition was very lively because students excitedly watched and supported the participants.
The Elective Class Showcase, which was held for only one day, was as exciting as the Fun Learning event. This activity began with Morning Devotion at 07.30 and ended with the election of the Student Council Chair at 15.00. The Elective Class Showcase activity ran smoothly as it was seen from the 8th and 9th grade students who prepared their classes very well. Likewise, the 7th grade students who entered each Elective Class Showcase looked enthusiastic.
The Korea Hangeul Day event as the peak of the activity, which was held for only 1 day, was very lively and crowded. This activity was in collaboration with King Sejong Institute Surabaya. This activity started from 10.00 until 13.00. The Korean Hangeul Day event ran smoothly and was a success as a large number of visitors came to the event. In the event, there were singing and dance performances that were brought by the students of Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School. There were several booths such as Calligraphy Booth 1 where visitors can write Hangeul letters using a brush and ink using a fan media assisted by native Koreans. Then there was Calligraphy Booth 2 where visitors got Korean letter stamps and chose motivational sentences to write. There was Korean food provided free of charge for visitors. Lastly, there was a Photobooth where visitors could take photos using hanbok and wear traditional Korean clothes.
In Fun Learning, Elective Class Showcase, and Korea Hangeul Day, all students of Petra Acitya and their teachers, employees, as well as staff participated. In the Korean Hangeul Day event, parents and anyone could join the event.
Petra Acitya Christian Junior High School has also successfully implemented the P5 Project which was done by students for the first time. This first P5 project was making a Vlog with the theme of My Well-being: from Me and for Me. Students made vlogs about healthy lifestyles. Students exercised, grew vegetables and cooked them as part of their healthy lifestyle. This P5 project was able to run smoothly and successfully as students were very enthusiastic about making Vlogs with their groups as well as teachers and mentors who guided them. All these activities have been a blessing and a gift from God.
